Latin Rock, Inc - The Year in Review

Of the many shows produced by LRI this year, a few stand out as worthy of further recognition. Looking back on the excitement of the year that 2012 was, I wanted to give some final shout outs before the year draws to a close.

October 20 - Salvador Santana, Viva Santana, Quino from Big Mountain @ Humphrey's, San Diego

This was our last show of the Salvador Santana Tour for the year. I had been wanting to work with Viva for some time, Quino ever since Joaquin Solorzano had been with them some years ago. With Arnie Vilchez from Toto on Guitar, and Thomas Connor, lead singer for Blood, Sweat and Tears in the group, along with their fearless leader Pat Buono on congas, this San Diego favorite played an endless set of Santana favorites to the hilt. Quino, lead singer of Big Mountain, along with his group, also shared the stage that night and played songs not only from Big Mountain, including their big hit "Ohh Baby I Love Your Way", the Peter Frampton remake, reggae style, but other originals in English and Spanish. You will see Viva and Quino in the Bay Area in 2013.
