Born and raised in San Diego, California, Andy started performing professionally
at age 8 with various local bands. Jazz, classical, and progressive
music were his influences while learning guitar, drums, bass trombone,
and bass guitar. He performed in high school music programs ranging
from marching band, concert band, orchestra and drama. In 1983, he was
one of the founding members of Crystal as well as one of the main song
writers.
Bill Cornish - Keyboards, Vocals
A native to San Diego, California, Bill grew up listening to jazz, classical
and progressive rock. He began studying organ and piano at an early
age and also spent four years studying the violin. Performing with several
San Diego based bands, he developed a personal style that reflects his
diverse influences. In early 1983, he co-founded Crystal. He is currently
the keyboardist for fusion project The Odd Get Even and a number of live bands in the Chicago area. He also has
an Internet-based solo project centered around his own jazz / new age
/ world music which can be seen at billcornish.com.
Grady McGrew - Guitar, Vocals
Born in Naples, Italy into a military family, Grady started playing
guitar at age fourteen after seeing GI’s performing at a military function.
Entirely self taught, Grady immersed himself in blues and rock, influences
being BB King to European rocker, Michael Schenker(UFO, Scorpions).
Starting professionally with Jynx, playing local colleges, Grady moved
on to Hit ‘n’ Run garnering success with the song "Boys Toys," heard
on local radio stations. After the break up of Hit’n’Run, Grady joined
Crystal as lead guitar player. He is currently the guitarist for The
Thomas Connor Band.
Rick Williams - Drums, Vocals
Born a Navy brat in Portsmouth Virginia, Rick moved constantly while
growing up; living in Virginia, Cuba, Tennesse and California. Early
on, he discovered that he had a natuaral ability on the drums. Completely
self-taught, he played in many bands in junior high and high school.
As an adult, he toured all over West Virginia, Virginia, and Maryland
with the group Barnstorm, who performed with acts such as Jim Croce,
Nantucket and Jeff "Skunk" Baxter of Doobie Brothers and Steely Dan
fame. In the late seventies, he moved to San Diego, California. After
several unsuccessful attempts to start a band there, he answered an
ad Crystal had placed in the local paper for a drummer who could also
do vocals. As soon as they played the first couple of songs together,
he knew he had found his place. Rick can currently be seen performing
with the band Serious Guise.
